A half-day journey of approximately 4 to 5 hours that begins the moment you leave Tokyo for Mt. Fuji by helicopter. On this tour, arriving quickly is not the only thing we treat as valuable. The view from the air as you lift off from Tokyo and draw closer to Mt. Fuji, the landing at the winery, meeting the maker, Koshu wine and the food of the region are all experienced as a single story.
A member of our staff guides you through the winery. Here, grapes are grown in dialogue with the nature of the Mt. Fuji foothills, and Japanese wine is made with insight drawn from experts around the world. This is more than a look around the facilities; it is time spent with the maker's thinking on why Koshu is grown here and what kind of wine they are striving for.
At the heart of the tasting is Koshu, Japan's indigenous grape variety. Ernest Singer has pursued dry wines that draw on the delicacy of Koshu and pair well with Japanese cuisine. Compare five wines, mainly whites and sparkling, and enjoy how cultivation and winemaking shape differences in aroma and taste.
This tour features a special lunch course built around ingredients particular to the region, including Shizuoka beef and vegetables in season. Paired with Koshu wines made to sit alongside Japanese food, you taste the cuisine and the wine of the Mt. Fuji foothills one plate at a time.
This plan includes a round-trip flight between Tokyo and the Mt. Fuji winery, private car transfers from anywhere in Tokyo's 23 wards to Tokyo Heliport, a welcome reception overlooking Mt. Fuji, a winery tour, a tasting of five wines, and a special lunch course. There is no need to arrange the journey from Tokyo to the Mt. Fuji area separately from the experience that awaits on arrival — everything is taken care of from departure to return.
